Tango Chirimen

The characteristic of Chirimen is its wrinkled fabric. The unevenness is not created by embossing. It is formed by craftsmanship of weaving and washing and rubbing the fabric in hot water. Nowadays, Tango, located in Kyoto is the only place practicing this traditional manufacturing process.
The most famous feature of Tango Chirimen is its unevenness, which is called "Shibo". Tango chirimen is weaved in a specific way by using straight warp and twine woof. "Shibo" prevents chirimen fabric from being wrinkled and it makes beautiful textures.
Tango Chirimen is easily-washable since it is made from high-quality polyester, which is high-absorbent, quick-drying, and breathable material.
